Violation Cost: Flexibility in Constraints
The Violation Cost feature allows you to set a cost for overriding certain order vehicle combination constraints. This means that if breaking a rule leads to a significantly cheaper overall plan, the optimization can choose to do so. The feature can now also be used to express preferences, not only hard constraints. For instance, if a driver has a preferred region, the optimization will take this into account but still ignore the preference if it saves a substantial amount of transportation costs. This feature offers greater flexibility in planning efficient routes under complex conditions.
Time Slot Costs: Optimize Scheduling
Time Slot Costs assign a specific cost to appointments scheduled within certain time frames. This allows for more precise and cost-effective route optimization by factoring in the expenses associated with different time slots. Ideal for businesses managing numerous deliveries or appointments, this feature helps optimize both time and cost.
