Electronic toll collection (ETC) systems provide a fast alternative to pay the toll without stopping the vehicle, normally using a wireless transponder. As the driver does not have to stop, traffic delays are reduced. Moreover ETC systems are cheaper and more flexible.
In the new version of the PTV Developer Routing API V1.6.0 you have the possibility to consider them by using the parameter ‘etcSubscriptions’. At the moment there are more than 50 different subscriptions for Europe and USA available. Just choose the subscription your vehicle is able to use and the toll costs are calculated based on that.
