Introducing the new Route Optimization OptiFlow API, a super exciting new member of the PTV Developer family. This API will not only make scheduling routes easy for you, it will also help you save costs and reduce your carbon footprint.
Route Optimization OptiFlow API V1.0.10 comes with one of the best algorithms for route optimization in the world. We invite you to test/use this API and compare the results with those from your current or previous software. It is highly likely you will be surprised by the savings. This quick start page will get you started.
To start an optimization, you will need to create locations, orders and vehicles. If you have depots, they have to be created as well. In addition, you can specify constraints e.g. an order that requires a vehicle with a cooling compartment for transport. Have a look at the API Reference for more details.
Another useful feature of the API is that you decide when to stop a running optimization. You can set a duration after which the optimization algorithm stops automatically. Furthermore, you can also stop a running optimization explicitly as soon as you are happy with the result obtained.
All of this is just a beginning. There is a backlog full of features that we will gradually provide in this API.
