There are use cases where a route starts or ends from locations like gas stations or rest areas along highways. Then it could happen that these locations are in the middle of a toll section. Up to now the toll of this section is not considered at all as it is unknown where the toll section is entered or left. In countries with long toll sections a significant toll amount is missing.
Since version V1.32.0 of the PTV Developer Routing API the missing toll amount is approximated by searching the next possibility to enter or leave the toll section. To indicate such cases we provide the new response parameters ‘containsApproximatedSections’ in the toll costs and ‘approximated’ in the affected toll section.
